Dear Colleagues,
The launch of IFUS comes at an important moment for our field. Across the world, focused ultrasound is gaining momentum. More physicians are adopting the technology, more patients are benefiting from treatment, and new applications continue to emerge.
With that growth comes an opportunity – and a responsibility – to work together to ensure focused ultrasound reaches its full clinical potential.
As a global clinical community, we can learn from one another, share best practices, improve training, strengthen evidence, advocate for broader patient access, and help shape the future of focused ultrasound. That is the purpose of IFUS.
The response to our launch has been remarkable. Since IFUS officially launched in May 2026, 460 founding members representing 42 countries have joined our community. This early enthusiasm reflects the momentum of focused ultrasound and the shared commitment among clinicians worldwide to advance the field together.
This newsletter is one way we will stay connected. Each quarter, we'll share important clinical developments, educational opportunities, research highlights, Society initiatives, and opportunities for members to engage. We also hope to showcase the outstanding work taking place across our community, because some of the most valuable insights come from one another's experience.
IFUS was built by clinicians, for clinicians. Our Board of Directors represents a broad range of specialties, disciplines, and geographic regions, united by a common goal: to accelerate the safe, effective, and responsible adoption of focused ultrasound worldwide. Whether by participating in a webinar, joining a committee, sharing your clinical experience, or contributing in other ways, I encourage you to become actively involved. The Society will be strongest when its members help shape its direction.
The future of focused ultrasound will be shaped by the clinicians who care for patients every day. I am grateful that you have chosen to be part of that effort from the very beginning. Thank you for joining us as a founding member of IFUS. I look forward to working with you as we build a strong global clinical community and help realize the full potential of focused ultrasound for patients everywhere.
